Police Bruality
We work to protect and vindicate victims of police brutality. If you’ve suffered violence at the hands of a police officer, our team will work to hold those officers accountable for the physical harm, emotional distress, and other effects resulting from the violation of your civil rights. Additionally, violent police officers cannot be allowed to continue to walk our streets in uniform. We have successfully removed multiple violent officers from law enforcement.
First Amendment
From Denver to Kenosha to Los Angeles, when cities and law enforcement react to protest movements with force or declare the exercise of this more foundational right, Milo is the attorney who gets the call. However, our right to expression is not limited to large-scale protest movements. The lone individual with a camera recording police misconduct or those with only a microphone and their voice deserve the same attention.
Unlawful Arrests
Whether to cover up their own violence, to retaliate against speech, or simply out of laziness, police too often, and without any probable cause, arrest citizens during their daily lives. While officers may not take seriously the consequences of a wrongful charge, we know how it affects your life. From lost jobs to the stress of fighting for your freedom, we are dedicated to calling out such misconduct and getting you compensation.
Sexual Assault
Our children should be safe in the hallways of their schools. Unfortunately, all too often, our school leaders fail to protect our children. When students are subjected to sexual harassment or assault while at school, they have recourse through both Title IX and the courts. We work to make schools take this conduct seriously and provide a safe environment for students. And when they refuse to act, we take them to court to provide our clients the protection they deserve.
Doing the Important Work
When the Denver Police responded to thousands of George Floyd protesters with tear gas and rubber bullets, we jumped into the fray, suing the City and County of Denver in Federal Court while the protests were still going on. We won the first-in-the-nation Restraining Order stopping the Denver Police from continuing to engage in excessive force and First Amendment violations during the George Floyd protests. Soon, Federal Courts across the country were issuing orders modeled on our win.
